Ye Olde History Snippets… The music for our fifth hymn this coming Sunday, #694 “Great God of Every Blessing”, was written by Samuel Sebastian Wesley in 1864 for the 500th anniversary of John Calvin’s birth.
The lyrics sum up his liturgical theology, ending each stanza with his motto: Cor meum tibi offero, Domine, prompte et sincere.

We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of Joan Promin’s husband Richard E. Promin, MD. Dr. Promin served the Ocala region as a family physician for many, many years.
Dr. Promin was a 1961 graduate of the Thomas Jefferson University Medical School. We extend our sincere condolences to our wonderful choir member Joan, her family, and her friends. The family has requested privacy during this very difficult time.
