60th Anniversary Celebration News!

60th ANNIVERSARY “NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW!”

What’s this? The Friday “News You Need to Know” has come early?  Not exactly.  This email is dedicated to the upcoming 60th Anniversary Celebration.  Think of this as the “News You Really Need to Know about the 60th Anniversary Celebration! 😊

Schedule of Events

This Sunday (August 17th):  We would like to add a current congregational photo to our 60th Anniversary Booklet, so… this Sunday, following the worship service we are going to get a group photo!  So be sure to come, dress up pretty, and smile!

Saturday, September 13th, 5:00-7:00ish on the Hope House grounds:  Join us for a time of food, fellowship, reconnecting and reminiscing!  Reservations are not needed, but everyone is encouraged to bring an appetizer to share.

Sunday, September 14th at 10:30 a.m. is our 60th Anniversary Service, which will include some of our former ministers and staff helping lead worship! Following the service, there will be a Catered Luncheon (reservations required for the luncheon). We are expecting a good crowd, so come early, wear your nametag, and show our famous Fort King hospitality to all our guests!

What Else Can I Do?

(I’m so glad you asked!)

  • If you have not already done so, please make your reservation to the luncheon immediately!  While there is no cost for the luncheon, we do need an accurate number, and space is limited, so please sign-up while there is still time!
  • While this event is free to all (the church is paying for this party!), if you would like to make a donation to help defray expenses, your contributions are greatly appreciated! Make checks out to the church, but indicate “60th Anniversary” on the memo line.  If you would like to add a  picture or person word from you or your family in the Booklet, the cost is $40 for a quarter page, $75 for a half-page. Speak with Judith Bullen for more information.
  • It wouldn’t be a proper church event, if we didn’t need help with set-up and clean-up!  If you can help out either Saturday or Sunday night, please speak with Jo Ann Parramore.
  • Finally, I would ask that you be in  prayer for our church, this event, and all those who will be attending this homecoming event.

Grace and Peace,

Your 60th Anniversary Steering Committee
