John Rogers began his career in the consulting industry in Atlanta and Tokyo. This led to a decade in the State Department, with assignments in Jakarta and Prague. After leaving government, John established an “applied economics” consulting practice at KPMG, in Washington DC. He later transitioned to the policy research sector and served as Chief Operating Officer for The Urban Institute for close to 20 years. After retirement, John returned to Ocala (he is a native) and keeps busy with consulting, board service, mentoring, and some work on the family farm. He earned his B.A. from Duke and M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jennifer Hatchett was raised in Memphis, Tennessee by two parents who instilled in her a passion for volunteerism. She moved to Florida in 1996 to attend the University of Florida where she obtained her Bachelors and master’s degree in Exercise Sport Science with a specialization in Sport Management. She followed her husband, Tony, a lifelong Marion County resident, to Ocala and worked in banking and healthcare fundraising before leaving to join her husband at their family business, Leisure Living Furniture. This gives her the flexibility for her most important job, being a mother to two very active teenage daughters. Since moving to Ocala, she has volunteered with many organizations, including Junior League of Ocala, First United Methodist Church, Ocala Power United Volleyball Club and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County. Mentoring and working with youth in our community is truly where her heart lies.
Please join us for coffee (and on Zoom) at 8:45 and class will begin at 9:00.
