About Us

About Us

Art for all IMAGES
Art 4 All is an art-based community outreach of Ft. King Presbyterian Church. Our mission is to bring people of ALL ages, ALL faiths, and ALL ability levels together in a nonjudgmental and creative environment, in order to support self-expression, enhance emotional well-being, and facilitate meaningful connections among diverse groups of people.
1
Everyone! We are an intentionally diverse outreach. We have enjoyed children still in strollers, as well as highly creative nonagenarians. We welcome people from all faith communities, and those with none. Some visitors are highly skilled artists; others enjoy expressing themselves through art despite physical and mental challenges. We do ask that children be accompanied by an adult guardian.
2
We provide a range of arts and crafts activities for all ages. The activities change each month, but might include painting, clay, jewelry-making, weaving, fabric art, seasonal crafts, collages, special children’s art, and more. We also provide a table of varied art supplies for folks who prefer open-ended creations, as well Legos and puzzles for engineering types.
3
The third Sunday of each month (January through October) from 2 til 5. We take a break over the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.

clinical supervision, and creative therapies for teens and young adults. Originally from Barbados, she
currently works at Families First of Florida. Angela is a long-time member of Ft. King, where she

Susan Jensen

Susan Jensen is a visual artist, writer, and nature lover. Her writings include fiction, essays, and lyrical
poetry (often composing lyrics for Ft. King’s annual Women’s Retreat). She has served in many
educational roles throughout her career. Her contributions to Art 4 All are countless, and include
workshops such as polymer clay, meditative drawing, and abstract paper designs.

Donna Lavery

Donna Lavery is a long-time member and former youth leader at Fr. King. She teaches Tai Chi, expresses
herself musically through ukelele and singing, and has developed a highly successful “Sit and Stitch”
group at Ft. King that uses “no rules” stitchery as a means of relaxation, mindfulness, and spontaneous
creativity. Donna is a retired preschool educator and occupational therapy assistant, and specializes in
creative crafts for children.

Carol McCammon

Carol McCammon is a retired librarian/media specialist, and contributes to Art 4 All in a multitude of
ways. She serves as a greeter at our Art 4 All events, and is often the first face people see when they
enter our events. Prior to moving to Ocala, Carol was an active leader in the Tampa area. Among her
many gifts, she is an accomplished knitter, needlepoint artist, and mentor..

Kathleen Polston

Kathleen Polston is a retired pediatric occupational therapist who shares her time between Ocala and
New Mexico. She is passionate about Art 4 All, which she describes as a “community that fosters fellowship through caring creativity.” Her many creative interests include weaving, watercolor, and
recycled mixed media arts. She is also an avid collector of art, and an enthusiastic supporter of artists.

Joan Promin

Joan Promin is a lifelong musician and accomplished visual artist. Her artwork includes portraits of
people and animals with oils and pastels, and she has completed many commissioned paintings. With an educational background in the sciences, she has also served as a resident artist with the Arts in Medicine program at University of Florida. Joan spearheaded the revolving hallway gallery exhibits at Ft. King
Presbyterian.

Elaine Trice

Elaine Trice is a relatively new volunteer with Art 4 All, but has plunged in with passion and creativity.
She enjoys creating almost anything out of anything, and is currently on a nonstop jewelry kick. Her past artistic accomplishments have included painting, collage, ceramics, and much more. You can find her helping with almost every creative project at Art 4 All gatherings – except knitting. That’s an inside joke!

Becky Wolf

Becky Wolf is a retired teacher, elementary school guidance counselor, and “peace educator” who co-
founded Marion Charter School in Silver Springs Shores. Always open to new experiences and
adventures, Becky enjoys creating with clay, a variety of paints, fabric, and more. Although she has
moved to Gainesville, Becky volunteers at Art 4 All whenever she is able, and inspires us with her joyful
spirit and outside-the-box ideas.

Joan Woods

Joan Woods has been active in the Ocala art community for decades, and describes herself as “a
watercolor and acrylic artist covering the world with color.” Her work ranges from whimsical to realistic,
always designed to bring joy to the viewer. Visitors to Ft. King will find her paintings in the HOPE House,
Session Room, and covering the large garden wall church members see as they look out the sanctuary
window. Joan teams up with Carol McCammon to provide a warm welcome to Art 4 All visitors each
month.
