A reminder from Mary Beth Neely; Charles Eady’s exhibit at the Appleton Museum
This is a reminder that Charles Eady’s exhibit at the Appleton Museum begins today and continues into 2024. He will lead a personal tour on Saturday, August 5. I have attached a short video with an overview of his spectacular art as it is displayed in this exhibit.
Charles is a first rate artist and an art educator. He has, also, published a book called Hidden Freedom, The South Before Racism. By digging into the history of his own family, he discovered that some of his ancestors, and others, were free blacks in South Carolina before the Civil War. That history has informed his art.
Please consider visiting the Eady’s exhibit at the Appleton. -Mary Beth
