An AFFIRMATION OF from Romans 12

We will let our love be genuine and hold fast to what is good.

We will devote ourselves to one another in brotherly and sisterly love.

We will show honor to one another, placing their needs above our own.

We will not lag in zeal, but be ardent in spirit, even as we serve the Lord.

We will rejoice in hope, be patient is suffering, and persevere in prayer.

We will contribute to the needs of the saints, and extend hospitality to strangers.

We will bless those who persecute us, yes we will bless them and not curse them.

We will rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.

We will not be so conceited that we fail to associate with the lowly.

And as far as it is possible with us we will live in peace with all.

We will not repay evil with evil;

Instead, if our enemies are hungry we will feed them,

and if they are thirsty we will give them something to drink.

We will not be overcome by evil, but will overcome evil with good.
