*HYMN OF PRAISE, #353 My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less SOLID ROCK
(verses 1-3)
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of wisdom and firm foundations,
you call us to build our lives on the solid rock of your Word.
Yet we confess that too often we choose the easier path
the shifting sands of convenience, comfort, or fear.
You teach us to listen deeply and act with courage,
but we admit that we sometimes hear without doing,
plan without following through,
and promise without staying the course.
You set before us the way of integrity, service, and compassion,
yet we confess the moments when we have turned inward,
ignored a neighbor in need, or failed to stand for what is right.
Forgive us, Lord.
Strengthen our character, steady our steps,
and help us become people who not only hear your teachings
but live them
so that when the storms rise and the winds blow,
our lives may stand firm in you. Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON Psalm 31:3
Take heart, God is our rock and our fortress, and the Holy One
has stored up an abundance of goodness for those who take refuge in him.
*PASSING THE PEACE
*RESPONSE, #353, v.4 My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less SOLID ROCK
When he shall come trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found,
Dressed in his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand; all over ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH My Commitment as a Christian
Im part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power.
The die is cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made.
Im a disciple of Jesus.
I wont let up, look back, slow down, back away, or be still
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, meander in the maze of mediocrity,
or pander at the pool of popularity.
I must go till He comes, give till I drop, and work till He stops me;
and when he comes for his own, he will have no problem recognizing me
my banner will be clear.
