The Meaning of the Celtic Cross (Part II)

The class will watch the second half of the video of John Philip Newell’s discussion of the Celtic cross. Newell responds to questions posed by some of those who attended the Zoom session on Diana Butler Bass’ podcast, “The Cottage.” He gives a little of the historical background of Celtic Christianity. He notes some of its similarities with Eastern Orthodox Christianity in theology and practice. At the same time he points out how it differs from the Christianity of Rome and the West. Newell also addresses the Celtic celebration of the divine feminine.

Again, Susan Jensen will lead the discussion.
