The Future is Peace

This Sunday in Crossroads John Heinbockel will lead our discussion of Days 2 and 3 of the book The Future is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land by Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon.

Day 2 is a visit to the beautiful city of Jaffa where we learn about the deep Palestinian history there before the Nakba (“the catastrophe in Arabic). Sarah and Inon then journey to Tel Aviv, a modern Israeli city, representative of Jewish immigration to Israel, the Aliyah (“the rising” in Hebrew).

Day 3 focuses on East Jerusalem, home to many Palestinians and a place where Israeli settlements have become an issue. It is in the heart of old Jerusalem and where there are sacred sites for Jews, Muslims, and Christians.
