Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray;  With a song in my heart; thoughts from our music director, Rick Roberts.

Good morning, brothers and sisters,

Saturday has arrived so, enjoy a little little humor!

A pastor who’s now with another congregation has a son who was “strong-willed” when he was young.
During one sermon, the boy was misbehaving, so his mom picked him up and was carrying him out to discipline him.

Knowing what was coming, the son shouted, “Pray for me!”

It took several minutes for everyone to stop laughing.  (Church Humor)

I only misbehaved in church one time.  I was about 5 years old and from the time we entered the sanctuary, until after the service, I insisted it was time to go.  My mom didn’t take this so well, and my dad gave me “the look”.  I don’t know how they learned “the look”, but I understood that something bad was in the future.  I wasn’t wrong.  When we got home, I got a stern talking to, promised a spanking if that ever happened again, and banished to my room.

Taking their admonishment seriously, I never misbehaved again.

“Pray for me” the child said.  I believe that is the heart’s desire of all of us.  I am comforted knowing that I am in your prayers.  Prayer is important when someone is ill, loss of a loved one, going thru a hard time, or facing uncertainty.

Those prayers are valuable to one’s well-being.  Pray is so beneficial for both the “pray-er” and the “pray-ee”.

Prayer is also a time of thanksgiving or requesting success for someone.  Prayer is a time for laying out your needs.  Prayer is asking for good things for others.

Like the words of an old hymn, “Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray?”

May God richly bless you this day and every day,

With a song in my heart,

Rick
