Faith; With a song in my heart; thoughts from our music director, Rick Roberts.

Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today being Thursday, it’s time to have a thought to ponder: “Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars, and he’ll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint, and he has to touch it.” (Legit Quotes) I have to confess; I’ve done that very thing. They say, “curiosity killed the cat”, but wet paint is a mess. Why, oh Why did I touch that bench? Why didn’t I have faith to believe what I was told? Oh, yes, I’ll just about wager that you’ve done the same thing, too.

In 1st Peter there are meaningful words about faith:
“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him.
Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:6-9)
Faith, in the form or trust, is so wonderfully stated in Psalm 143:
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you, I entrust my life.” (Psalm 143:8)
If you wish to be encouraged by what your faith in God can do, read Psalm 143 this day. It will give you pause for thoughts to ponder.
With a song in my heart,
Rick
