Friday, 11-15-2024 message from Pastor Bob.
This Sunday, November 17th, is Stewardship Sunday, and we hope to have a full house for this important day! If you would like to prepare for the worship service, I will be preaching on Mark 14:1-9, which tells of a woman who anointed Jesus with an expensive perfume. The sermon title comes from the scripture passage: “What is the meaning of this extravagant waste?”
The culmination of the worship service will be the opportunity for all who call Fort King their “Church Home” to fill out their Estimate of Giving Card for next year, as well as a Time & Talent Survey, and return it during the service as an act of devotion and commitment. Both the Time & Talent Survey and the Estimated Giving Card will be distributed during the worship service, and ample time will be provided for you to prayerfully fill them out. I would ask that prior to Sunday’s service, you prayerfully consider where and how you would like contribute to the work and worship of Fort King (your Time and Talents), and what percentage of your income you feel God is calling you to contribute to the funding of our ministry in 2025.
To help you think that through, I have attached a percentage giving chart that will help you figure out your current giving level, and I humbly ask you to consider moving one column to the left.
Let me say this clearly: If you are not comfortable filling out a 2025 Estimated Giving Card/Time & Talent Survey, or find that you need more time before you do – that’s okay! Really, it’s okay. This Sunday is not meant to be a high-pressure, arm-twisting, guilt-inducing sales pitch! Frankly, I am more interested in “faith-raising” than “fund-raising.” I pray that this day will a meaning-full day of recommitment and hope – for you, for me, and for Fort King.
If you are not able to be present on Sunday, or if you normally worship with us on Zoom, I have attached an Estimated Giving Card for your use; and we will also mail you a copy next week. We do ask that ALL Estimated Giving Cards be returned by Sunday, December 8th.
