Happy Friday Fort King Family,
and a Happy New Year to You All!
Before we get to what’s happing this Sunday at Fort King, let me first take this opportunity to thank you all for the recently completed Advent and Christmas Season we just experienced! What wonderful worship services we enjoyed together, and all the fellowship and mission activities made the season special! And on behalf of the church staff, I also would like to thank you, dear congregation, for the very generous Christmas bonus you collected for us! Your kindness is deeply appreciated, and it is a blessing to serve a congregation that cares for us so well!
…And now, on to the News You Need to Know!
This Sunday at Fort King
Technically we are still in the Christmas Season (hey, one last chance to sing a Christmas Carol or two), but this Sunday we also move into the church season known as Epiphany, during which we explore different stories that revealed Jesus as the Light of the World. This Sunday, we witness the arrival of the Wisemen and their response to meeting the Christ-child in a sermon entitled “Overwhelmed with Joy!” and who couldn’t use a little more of that to start the new year! I hope you can join us, either in person or online…worship is always more joyful when you are there!
And after worship, be sure to check out the Fair Exchange table in the narthex.
It’s Your Birthday!
On Sunday evening we are celebrating YOUR birthday! Well, we are celebrating EVERYONE’S birthday! The Fellowship Ministry Team has planned a Chili Dinner, which sounds perfect for these chilly days we’ve been having lately! And afterwards, we will celebrate everyone who plans to have a birthday in 2026 (that includes you, right?) with cake and some fun-and-games! The food and festivities begin at 5:00 p.m., and the only thing you need to bring is your smiling face!
Join Us for Genesis!
So, is one of your New Year’s Resolutions growing in your faith? If so, then you’re in luck because this coming Wednesday (January 7th) we are beginning a new Bible Study on the first book of the Bible – Genesis. What better way to start the beginning of a new year, then with a book whose first words are “In the beginning!” Genesis is one of the most foundational and fascinating books in the Bible, so join us every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
