Camellia Society Show
The Ocala Camellia Society is having their annual Camellia Competition and Show this weekend in the Fort King Fellowship Hall. Come out and be amazed at the beautiful variety of Florida’s favorite “Rose of Winter!” The show is open all day on Saturday and Sunday after church. For more information, speak with Sally Layendecker.
Speaking of Camellias: Buddy and Anne MacKay were known for the beautiful camellias that graced their property. Though Buddy and Anne are no longer with us, their children Ken and Cindy MacKay have invited members of Fort King to come out and enjoy the spectacular foliage on Monday, January 26th at 2:00 p.m. If you are interested, we will be carpooling from the church at 1:30 p.m. The more the merrier!
This Sunday at Fort King
I hope you’ll join us this Sunday we continue our current four-part series on the Sermon on the Mount. This week we will focus on how Jesus expands the Biblical vision of what God’s “Blessed Community” would look, and act, like. I hope you’ll join us!
Prior to worship, I hope you’ll join us for our always interesting and insightful Crossroads Class at 9:00 a.m., as we continue our exploration of the 20-year old classic: “Living Buddha, Living Christ.” How do these two great religious traditions complement one another, especially in their focus on love, understanding, compassion and community? This week’s discussion will be led by our own Susan Jensen.
Annual Congregational Meeting
Following the worship service, we will discuss in more detail our own “Blessed Community,” at our Annual Congregational Meeting. We do have a few pieces of business we need to take care of, but really this meeting is an opportunity for us to review the year just past, and take a look at the year ahead. We do ask all members to make every effort to attend, and we encourage our visitors and friends of Fort King to stay as well!
