Hey, what’s going on at Fort King this Weekend?

I’m so glad you asked…Here’s the News You Need to Know!

LLove Is in the Air!

First, let me congratulate newlyweds Michael and Jackie Kemnitz! Michael and Jackie were married in a private ceremony, surrounded by their family, on Monday, February 9th…just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Speaking of Valentine’s Day…

This Saturday – Valentine’s Day – the P.W. (Presbyterian Women) are hosting their annual “Night of Italy” Fundraiser Dinner, featuring a specially prepared Italian Feast and homemade desserts. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and they will be serving until 7:00 p.m. For a last-minute reservation, call Bernice Henry; the cost is $12.50/person, and all profits will go to mission!

This Sunday at Fort King

According to the church calendar, this Sunday (February 15th) is Transfiguration Sunday; which serves as a bridge between the season of Epiphany—when Christ is revealed to the nations—and the beginning of Lent, which begins this next week (more on that in a minute). This Sunday’s message is “The View from the Mountain-Top.” I hope you can join us! Worship begins at 10:30 a.m., in person and online.

Prior to Worship, check out this week’s Crossroads Class. We are in the midst of a short series on the “Process of Science,” led by our own Gwynn Pealer and Jane Beebe! This is fascinating stuff – so join the conversation this Sunday morning at 9:30 p.m. in person or online.

Art 4All this Sunday!

The 3rd Sunday of the Month is “Art 4 All” Sunday at Fort King, and everyone is invited join the fun from 2:00-5:00 p.m. This month there will be an exciting array of projects, including Black History wreaths, 3D clay snowflakes, paper weaving, watercolor painting, and a table of supplies for self-directed creative activities. Looking i to seeing you there – and bring a friend!

Okay, Now More about Lent!

Ash Wednesday Service This Week

Next week we enter the holy Season of Lent—a time for reflection, renewal, and returning our hearts to God. To mark this beginning, we invite you to join us for a Noontime Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 18, at 12:15-12:45 p.m. This brief service offers space for prayer, scripture, and the imposition of ashes as we begin our Lenten journey together.

Legacies of Love & Legacy Program

Congratulations to Cash Pealer, who is being honored for his work with the College of Central Florida’s Foundation, at the “Legacies of Love” Luncheon today/Friday at the Kline Center at CCF!

Cash Pealer, and the church’s Legacy Team, is also spearheading a separate “Legacy Luncheon and Program” at Fort King on Sunday, February 22nd, following the worship service. At this luncheon attorney Samantha Shealy-Rauba will present helpful guidance on wills, bequests, and estate planning, which can help you support your loved ones and the ministries that most to you. So make plans to come and enjoy a meal, good conversation, and practical insights for faithful stewardship.
