Pastor’s “All the News You Need to know for this Sunday!”
Smile and Say “Fort King!”

Last Sunday, at the conclusion of our worship service, we took a congregational photo. It turned out so good we’re including it in our 60th Anniversary Celebration Booklet…and I’m sharing it with you here! If you would like to keep a copy, I’ve included an attachment with this email. Thanks to Joe Tyler for taking pictures last Sunday!
September Newsletter – the LINK! – now available!
So, really, ALL the News You Need to Know, for the entire month of September, can be found in the latest issue of the LINK! You should have received it by email earlier today, but in case you didn’t, see the attachement included with this email. We have a lot of ministries, activities and opportunities, starting back up, so please read through the newsletter so you are “Link-ed In!” My thanks to all who submitted articles, and to Mary Wald, our Office Administrator extraordinaire, for putting it all together and getting it all out.

60th Anniversary Update
A Reminder that Fort King’s 60th Anniversary extravaganza begins Saturday, September 13th with a “Meet-and-Greet Gathering” on the Hope House grounds, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This is a time to catch-up with old friends, make a few new ones, and enjoy all the wornderful food and fellowship! If you can, please bring a plate of appetizers, or a dessert to share.
The next morning, Sunday, September 14th the fun continues, with a special Worship Service and a Catered Luncheon. Join us for worship at 10:30 am., and invite your family and friends! I hope we have 200 people in worship that day! That’s not so far-fetched – 160 RSVP’d for the Luncheon. And while we’ve had to close our reservations for the luncheon (we’ve run out of space!), there is always room for more in the Sanctuary! Every family that attends will also receive a beautiful 60th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet, so please make plans to attend!
How Can You Help? There are a variety of ways: We need helping hands at our Work Day scheduled for Saturday morning, September 6th – we have to clean up for company! … There are also plenty of opportunities to help set-up and clean-up for our events – remember, many hands make light work! … And, if you can’t participate in a “hands on” way, any financial donations to help defray our expenses is much appreciated! … And finally, I would ask that all of you please pray this Homecoming Weekend is a joyous time for all and everything is done to the glory of God!

This Sunday at Fort King
Crossroads Class is meeting this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Margaret Spontak and Mary Beth will be taking a look back and leading a discussion on the past topics and courses our Adult Discipleship Class has tackled, and I’m sure introducing this Fall’s topic.
During our Worship Service (10:30 a.m. in person and online) we will explore another unique description of the church found in the pages of the New Testament; that, in Christ, we are “A New Creation!” God is doing a new thing in-and-through us, and that’s something worth celebrating, so I hope you can join us this Sunday!
Next Sunday
And last, but certainly not least…I encourage you to make plans to attend next Sunday’s (September 7th) “Fall Gathering/Rally Day” Breakfast during the 9:00 a.m. Sunday School hour. Everyone is encouraged to come, bring a breakfast item to share, and learn about the programs, ministries and opportunities starting (back) up in September!
This is Labor Day Weekend, so I pray an enjoyable holiday weekend for you! And a reminder, that the Church office will be closed on Monday. But let me take this opportunity to thank you all for your good work – in our church, our homes, our neighborhoods, and the wider Ocala Community! You are a blessing! – Pastor Bob
