Council Purpose:

 

The purpose is to build community, affirm women’s calls to leadership and spiritual growth, raise concerns and channel information to and from Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery.

 

Council Responsibilities

 

Elect our own leadership – Coordinating Team

Plan and implement a yearly program and determine our own budget

Meet in small groups as PW/Horizons Bible Study

Support the mission of the Presbyterian Church USA Worldwide

Develop the leadership abilities of women.

Recognize and fulfill accountability to the Session

Preserve historical records of PW in the congregation

Maintain connections with PW at other governing body levels.

Hold fundraisers such as White Elephant Sale and Night of Italy to support our many benevolences. We have approx. 24 we donate to yearly.

Hold an annual spring picnic or other gathering for the congregation

Develop a Women’s Retreat Themed for spiritual growth, usually yearly or bi-yearly held over a weekend time frame, Fri – Sun.

 

Committee Relationships and Accountability

The Ft. King PW Council is accountable to the Session and will present a written report to Session following each Council meeting.

 

The Council (Coordinating Team) meets from September through May on the first Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
