Good Wednesday morning,

Today, our quote of the week is from Nelson Mandela:

“We can change the world and make it a better place.  It’s in our hands to make a difference.”  (Nelson Mandela)

Change?  Some of us like change, some of us don’t, and some of us reluctantly tolerate change.  Depending on what the
“change” is, I am any one of the “like, don’t, or tolerate” categories.  I dare say all of us fit in one of those categories at some time or another.

However, I believe the words of Nelson Mandela encourage me to be in the enthusiastically embrace change category that makes a difference in the world around us.  But what can you and I do to make a difference?

”Carry each other’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians)
No one does anything alone.  Help friends and family get through life’s obstacles, and they will do the same for you.

“This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you.”  (John)
God loves us in a matchless, incredible way. It’s your obligation to take the love you receive from our Creator and find ways to bring that love and goodwill into your community.

“This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you.”  (Philippians)
It’s alright to do what’s good for you and your family, but keep in mind what will be most beneficial for your community. Trust that others are also looking out for your interests as well. Everyone has to work together.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  (Isaiah)
Fix your eyes on the new things God wants to do in your life.
I’m sure you have the same question I have:  “How do I accomplish these Bible “instructions?”

The answer can be found in Psalm 32 – “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  Trust in the Lord with all you heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

Take a few moments this morning and read Psalm 32.  Meditate on its words and you will be blessed.

With a song in my heart,

Rick
