SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE: November 5, 2023

Each year on the first Sunday of November, we remember those in our church who have died in the preceding 12 months. Their names and dates of life are called out and a candle lit during the service to remember them. In addition, there are tables in the Narthex with tea lights where you can bring a picture of a friend or family member who has died in the past that you still love and remember.
There are index cards on the tables and in front of their picture please write their name and under their name write your name and their relationship to you. For example, Pastor plans to have a picture of her good friend LeRay Moore. She will put on the card: LeRay Smith Moore and under that “close friend of Jo Anne Dyson”. She will then light the tea candle by flipping the switch on the underside. If you wish to do that, please bring a picture of your deceased friend or relative on November 5. Be sure to take the picture home with you following the service. |
