Tomorrow following the Service we are going to take a Congregational Photo for inclusion in our 60th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet!
I hope everyone is able to attend this Sunday! Actually, I hope everyone is able to attend every Sunday…but this Sunday in particular, because following the Service we are going to take a Congregational Photo for inclusion in our 60th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet. So, wear something pretty, stick around after the service, and smile!

I hope this picture reminds you to pick up a box (or two) of cereal, and bring it with you to church this Sunday! This is a targeted Food Drive for the Interfaith Food Bank, which serves all of Marion County. They have said their supplies are dangerously low to meet the current demands. Of course, if you want to bring other items for the Food Bank you are welcome and encouraged to do that as well!
The Mission Committee is also soliciting donations for the Interfaith “Pack-a-Sack” Program, which provides a bag of food every Friday to school children from food-insecure families, so they have something to eat over the weekend. Various churches in town provide different items – we here at Fort King are the “Pudding People!” Your donations of Pudding Packs, or financial donations, will allow us, in partnership with the Interfaith Emergency Services, to care for hungry children throughout our community!
You are invited to Join us for our final Summer Sunday Study class this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. We will be wrapping up our discussion of “The Great Search” by John Philip Newell.
This Sunday, you can help with me my message! I will be continuing our current sermon series on “Images of the Church,” and this week we will be exploring the image of the Church as “A People of Salt and Light.” Here’s how you can help: I’m looking for four-or-five people (not 40 or 50!) to bring in a salt shaker and/or a candle, to serve as object lessons on the Communion Table… So if you have something unique or fun, and don’t mind sharing, please let me know… and thanks!

We are quickly running out of time and space for you to sign-up to attend the 60th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon on Sunday, September 14th. So be sure to sign up this Sunday, or let the church office know this week by email or call. Reservations are not need for the worship service, only for the luncheon.

See you Sunday!
