Wait! There must be more than three pets in our congregation! Where are the photos? Blessing of the Pets: A beloved worship event at Fort King Presbyterian Church. September 29, 2024.
In recent years, our congregation has embraced a heartwarming and distinctive worship event known as the Blessing of the Pets.
Initiated by Pastor Jo Anne Dyson and inspired by the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, this special ceremony unites our church family and showcases images of their cherished pets, allowing for a moment of reflection, gratitude, and blessing.
The Worship Committee, with the encouragement of Pastor Bob, is pleased to announce that the 2024 Blessing of the Pets, will take place during our regular worship service on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Pastor Bob will offer prayers of gratitude for the companionship, joy, and love that our pets bring into our lives.
This occasion provides an opportunity to contemplate the unique bond we share with our animals and to express our thanks for the unwavering love and loyalty they offer.
The blessing also serves as a moment to seek continued health and well-being for our pets, acknowledging their significance as integral members of our families.
It is important to note that we do not bring the pets into the sanctuary.
Instead, we display photographs using a projection unit and share them via screen-sharing for congregants participating through Zoom and Facebook Live.
We encourage you to submit photographs of your beloved pets, as soon as possible, whether they are furry, feathered, or scaled!
